'Apeel' Keep Talking About it, We are making a difference.
More information, links to educate yourself, that everyone needs to know about the toxic substance 'Apeel'
It is very important to get the word out about the toxic substance being put on our vegetables and fruit called ‘Apeel’. And it makes a difference when we speak out and say, NO, we do not want a coating on our produce. Here is a quote from the Organic Consumers Association:
Some Good News -
“A big thanks to the two thousand of you who took the time to write to the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) about Apeel, the mysterious fruit coating backed by Bill Gates and the World Economic Forum.
You got results!
OMRI responded with a statement that the use of Apeel’s Organipeel as a fruit coating “could be out of USDA organic compliance.” “

I am sharing Links for you to do your own research.
This is the fourth blog I have written about ‘Apeel’ and I keep coming finding more information to share with everyone. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION! I have not come across anyone (that I have spoken to) that thinks this is a good idea. Also TAKE ACTION! Sign the petitions that I am sharing. It only took 2,000 signatures for OMRI to respond.
It appears there are two different names, ‘Apeel’ and ‘Organipeel’. I did some research but could not find the exact difference between the two. I will continue to call it ‘Apeel’ until I find more information. Are they just calling ‘Apeel’, ‘Organipeel’ to fool us to think it is ok to put on organic produce?
Do not go to the site that are promoting ‘Apeel’ for information. That is like asking the people who invented GMO foods, if their GMO foods are safe. Of course, they are going to say they are safe.
I have included in this blog link for all to go and read for more information.
Who is the Organic Consumers Association?
OCA is an online and grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit public interest organization, and the only organization in the U.S. focused exclusively on promoting the views and interests of the nation’s estimated 50 million consumers of organically and socially responsibly produced food and other products.
OCA educates and advocates on behalf of organic consumers, engages consumers in marketplace pressure campaigns, and works to advance sound food and farming policy through grassroots lobbying. We address crucial issues around food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children’s health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, environmental sustainability, including pesticide use, and other food- and agriculture-related topics.

Starr Ranch Growers was the only organic brand we knew of that was using Organipeel. As soon as your emails and Facebook comments started arriving, they removed all evidence of it from their website and told everyone who asked, “No we do NOT use Apeel products on any of our products.”
This is an announcement from 2020 that Starr Ranch was starting to use ‘Apeel’ on its apples.
Here is the link to a Facebook post where everyone commenting was asking about ‘Apeel’. Read the comments. Apparently, Starr Ranch was using ‘Apeel’ on a trial basis for two years. (Sometimes to learn about a topic it is best to read the comments of a post. )
TAKE ACTION: Tell Stemilt’s Artisan Organics to stop coating its apples with Apeel’s Organipeel! https://advocacy.organicconsumers.org/page/53255/action/1
Here is the article announcing that Stemilt Artisan is using ‘Apeel’ dated, Oct. 31, 2022.
Important Early Information
Early information about ‘Apeel’ from The Weston A. Price Foundation, dated Oct. 27, 2018 stating that it was FDA approved in 2018. Quote: “Apeel Sciences currently offers two different products for application to crops at various points in the growing and harvesting cycle. The first product, Invisipeel, can be applied by growers to crops in the field. Second, growers can apply Edipeel after harvest. With Edipeel, the growers wait until crops are ripe before harvesting them and then place them on conveyor belts to spray or simply dip them into the Apeel solution, which solidifies around the fruit or vegetable, forming a barrier. Edipeel already has approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS). The two products will be marketed as preserving agents (keeping the outward appearance of freshness of the fruit or vegetable), as pesticides (creating a physical barrier for pests) or even as fungicides (such as preventing the anthracnose fungus from shriveling up avocados).1-3”
