Rockefeller is also involved in funding APeel.

The Rockefeller Foundation has backed Apeel’s African Venture as part of its Yieldwise program, a project to reduce post harvest waste among small farmers in Africa.

Dr. Jabe Ruby:

Apeel is made with toxic metals and chemicals: ethyl acetate, cadmium, lead, palladium. These deadly metals have been shown to be carcinogenic and harmful to all body systems. Cumulative toxicants are particularly harmful to children. Yet the FDA/government deems it acceptable to have these metals and other toxins present in food.

Apeel brags about its purified mono-and diglycerides, a food ingredient that is found in a variety of foods. According to Dr. Josh Axe, mono-and diglycerides are “the go-to replacement for deadly trans fats and a food industry staple that helps keep oil and fat from separating. (Vani) Hari (The Food Babe) explains that this additive is a byproduct of oil processing, including partially hydrogenated canola and soybean oils. This additive is a byproduct of oil processing which contains artificial trans fat – a danger food ingredient known to cause coronary heart disease and linked to 50,000 fatal heart attacks a year.” (Side note: The FDA finally determined that trans fats are no longer generally recognized as safe for food use in 2016 and yet mono-and diglycerides are the “the go-to replacement.” But they change the label from trans fats to mono-and diglycerides and then the FDA changes their tune. Interesting or predictable?)

They don’t label the produce to warn the customers that their fruit and veggies has been coated by this chemical and even cut fruits are being targeted.

You’ll know when fruits like apples and tomatoes don’t brown after a few minutes when you cut into them, or when fruits & vegetables don’t spoil even when left on a counter for days.

I bought organic apples from Sprouts and Heirloom tomatoes from TJ’s. I took two apples and two tomatoes. I cut one apple in half and another I peeled. I did the same for the tomatoes. Then I left them in the counter. The apples did not brown even after a day. The tomatoes still looked fresh. I left them out and observed them for 5 days. The apples slightly turned brown but still looked like it was just cut a few minutes ago. Tomatoes got a little dry looking. The flies and fruit flies did not land on them and showed no interest at all. At the end of the week it started growing molds but still didn’t rot.

I plan to test every produce I buy this way from now on. If they don’t spoil in the normal way. I’ll return them and ask for my money back and make sure to complain to the produce manager and send a letter of protest to the corporate office.

If we all do this and boycott apeel covered produce, it will hurt there bottom line and they will need to listen to us.

They are also targeting small mom & pop’s farms. If we don’t stop this now even Farmer’s Market food won’t be safe to consume. Pls share these info, educate, talk to produce managers in your local supermarket and farmer’s mkt, protest the use of Apeel’s Edipeel and Organipeel chemicals on food.
